Kevin has managed the Plant Growth Facility at the Danforth Center since January 2013. He oversees the operations of nearly 50,000 square feet of controlled-environment greenhouse space and over 80 growth chambers. Kevin leads a talented staff of 13 Horticulturists and Greenhouse Technicians who support the research needs of 22 internal labs as well as several external research groups and companies.
Previously, Kevin was a Senior Lab Technician and Transformation Lead with the Mockler Lab, overseeing project design, throughput and personnel management. Kevin received his B.S in Microbiology from the University of Georgia. He went on to earn a M.S. in Molecular & Cellular Biology with a minor in Food Science & Technology at Oregon State University. Kevin is currently working on an Advanced Horticulture Certificate through the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Kevin is a player-manager for the Danforth Center softball team (Go ChloroBlasters!) and enjoys playing disc golf, hiking and cooking in his spare time.
